Public information session and consultation events announced

Beacon Action Group can today announce a series of public consultation events and an information session for concerned residents, in relation to the planning application for the restoration of Great Barr Hall and proposed development of 59 houses on protected green belt land.

Beacon Action Group are hosting an information session for local residents on Saturday 1st February, from 10:30am-12:30pm at Great Barr War Memorial Hall on Chapel Lane and Tom Watson MP will be giving an opening address. The idea of this event is to interpret the impact of the proposed plans on the Sandwell and Walsall residents, adjacent to Chapel Lane and the surrounding areas and offer support and advice to residents who may wish to object to any elements of the plans

Beacon Action Group has also been working closely with Walsall Councillor Adrian Andrew who will be holding a public consultation event at the Collingwood Centre on Monday 10th February, from 2pm-8pm, with the planners and architects present. Chapel Lane residents are extremely grateful to Cllr Andrew who has also agreed to hold a further public consultation event at the Great Barr War Memorial Hall in Chapel Lane.

These events will enable both Walsall and Sandwell residents, living close to the proposed development, to have the opportunity to see the plans in full, have a dialogue with the architects and be able to have their say through official Walsall Council consultation channels. The consultation event at the Memorial Hall will take place on Thursday 6th February from 2pm -8pm.

If you value this important open area it is vital that you attend. Beacon Action Group urges you to take this  opportunity to find out more about the proposed development and stress the importance of attending both of the meetings, to see the plans in full and hear about the concerns and the impact on the green belt and open space.
